Lounge Cocktail: Jello Shots
Recipe provided by Webtender.com
With summer almost here our thought turn to jello, that wiggly sweet treat from a box. Since we are not 8 we have provided a jello recipe we can live with.

Ingredients:
1 cup vodka
1 cup hot Water
1 package watermelon Jello

Mixing instructions:
Mix hot water and jello. Add vodka. Pour into 2 ounce cups. Serve after the jello has set.

Note: It may seem like a good idea to double or triple the amount of vodka. If you do this the jello will not set up and become firm. This is really not a problem, just thought you would want to know.

Looking for Herman James

Fifty-one years ago, Herman James, a North Carolina mountain man, was drafted by the Army.

On his first day in basic training, the Army issued him a comb. That afternoon the Army barber sheared off all his hair. On his second day, the Army issued Herman a toothbrush. That afternoon the Army dentist yanked seven of his teeth. On the third day, the Army issued him a jock strap.

The Army has been looking for Herman for 51 years.

Warning:

Man robs a bank and takes hostages.
He asks the first hostage if he saw him rob the bank. Hostage answers yes.
Robber shoots him in the head.
Asks second hostage if he saw him rob the bank. The second hostage answers no, but my wife did.

Lounging at the movies: Walk Hard: Charlie Wilson's War etc

Charlie Wilson's War (2007) Tom Hanks, Amy Adams, Julia Roberts, Philip Seymour Hoffman and others.

Finally a movie worth the time it takes to watch it. You should watch the extras also. This movie is about the funding of Afghanistan to get the Russians out. Texas Senator Charlie Wilson (Tom Hanks) felt the need to help the Afghani people get out from under the Russian invasion. He did it the way an insider Texan would, by any means available. Philip Seymour Hoffman's should get bonus points for his character in this film. 3 thumbs up and a cold beer.

Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007)

John C. Reilly plays Dewey Cox. A musician with a dream. Dewey, born poor and living with the unintentional death of his brother overcomes all the temptations of a popular musician to become a legend. This was no Talledega Nights but has its moments. Watching Dewey avoid the temptations later in the film was an unexpected chuckle.

Death Sentence (2007) Kevin Bacon, Garrett Hedlund, Kelly Preston and others.

This is the story of going from bad to worse. Nick Hume (Kevin Bacon) looses his son to a gang initiation during a robbery. When the courts do not do their job Nick decides to take matters into his own hands. Like we said it goes from bad to worse. Fairly gruesome violence but if you are into that you may enjoy this film very much.

Awake (2007) Hayden Christensen, Jessica Alba, Terrence Howard and Lena Olin. There are other actors and actresses as well, in case you are wondering.

Clay Beresford (Hayden Christensen) needs an operation, a serious one. Once on the table he experiences anesthetic awareness. This means he can hear and feel everything but cannot respond. While being operated on, he realizes things are not what they seem, very mysterious. 2 thumbs up and a couple of moments of wincing.

Lounge Eats: Grilled Flank Steak, what's for dinner.

Flank Steak is an excellent cut of meat

\INGREDIENTS
One 12-ounce jar orange marmalade
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoons A-1 steak sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
3 pounds flank steak
Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix together. Set aside 1 cup of the marinade. You will need it later. Place flank steak in a bowl and pour marinade over it. Maybe even jab it with a fork a couple times. Allow to marinade for an hour or overnight if you like.

Preheat your BBQ grill to HOT. Sear the flank steak for about a minute then flip it over and sear the other side.

Move to a cooler part of your grill and cook for another 5 or six minutes until done. After about 4 minutes it will be medium rare to rare inside.

Remove from grill and allow to rest for about 5 to 8ish minutes. Heat up marinade you set aside earlier and pour over the flank steak and serve.

It is highly recommended to serve with a side salad and a cold beer.

Enjoy.
